Brenham ISD will look at teacher salaries at Monday's school board meeting.
The district's superintendent, David Yeager, says it's important to stay competitive with other districts in the area.
Teachers have been granted a raise annually for the past eight years, Yeager said.
A decision won't be made until June when the district begins work on the budget.
The Brenham school district currently pays first-year teachers $33,000 a year.
Meanwhile, teachers in College Station start out making $35,500 a year. The starting salary in Bryan is $35,175.
