Aggie Idolized By A&M's Callaway House

A group of Aggies gathered Tuesday evening to cheer on their American Idol.

Residents at the Callaway House in College Station watched as Jason Castro sang Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Memories".

Castro lived at the private dorm last year and had lots of fans huddled around the dorm's big screen television.

Family friend, Stephanie Baisey says the broadway theme was a hard one for the 20-year-old.

"I think he did an amazing job for the task he was given on a genre that he probably won't ever do again probably," Baisey said following Castro's performance.

The Aggie, known for his dreadlocks and laid back style, received some harsh criticism from the judges.

The result show is Wednesday night on FOX.
