Bond has been set for a Katy man accused of killing a Burleson County father and son.

Myron Douglas Phillips, 35, is being held on a $2 million bond for the two capital murder charges he faces.

Phillips also has charges pending for aggravated sexual assault of a child from an incident that allegedly happened in 2006 in Harris County.

He was currently out on bond at the time of the shooting spree.

Officials say Phillips fatally shot David Weichert Sr., 62, and David (D.J.) Weichert Jr., 35, outside their home early Wednesday morning. Phillips alluded law enforcement for 12 hours, before he surrendered peacefully.

Officials expect Phillips to be arraigned Friday afternoon.

A memorial fund for the Weichert family has been set up at Citizens State Bank.
