It's back to the drawing board for the Madisonville city council and its ongoing effort to find a city manager. The latest plan is to meet with Texas First Group, a consulting firm that specializes in muncipal job placements.

The council thought it had found its next city manager when Garland Water Utilities Projects Manager David Jacobs was named the lone finalist for the job. But following the May 10 election, Jacobs withdrew his name from consideration.
