A College Station soldier is being recognized for his heroic efforts in Iraq.
Sergeant Eric Alan Moser, C Company, 2nd Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross by President Bush Thursday.
Moser's four-man sniper team fought off overwhelming opposition in Iraq last August. Ten insurgents were killed during the close combat fight.
The College Station native is a paratrooper out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
In all, President Bush presented two Distinguished Service Crosses, three Silver Stars to paratroopers, and two Silver Stars posthumously to family members.
