Brenham's school board wants to get on with the work of the district. Now, with two complaints we told you about a week ago resolved, they have a few less issues to deal with.
Former school board member Carey Counsil, who lost his bid for reelection to the board this month, brought the pair of residents with complaints together with the new top officers on the board.
In the end, Jerry Homan and C.H. Harvey dropped their complaints of mistreatment and illegal meetings.
Harvey told News 3 Monday that he wanted to give the new board leadership a chance to start fresh and get back to the best interests of the school district.
Homan's complaints began with a post-meeting encounter with former board president Richard O'Malley where Homan says inappropriate comments were made.
Harvey was upset after questioning in a meeting whether the board had enough information to vote. At a later meeting when Harvey was addressing the board about his concerns, board members reportedly closed the meeting, something Harvey said in his complaint was illegal.
