Bryan, TX] – Sexual Assault Resource Center has received $14,133 to help improve and enhance its primary prevention education programs, thanks to The Lowe Foundation in Austin, TX.
“We are pleased to announce that The Lowe Foundation has granted us a $14,133 grant,” said Dr. Nancy Bertsch, Board President of the Sexual Assault Resource Center. “This grant will be used for the Sexual Assault Resource Center and our community to work together to educate our citizens about sexual violence and work together to prevent sexual violence from happening.”
In 2007 the Sexual Assault Resource Center provided 219 presentations reaching 6,568 people in their seven county service area.
“The educational programs are designed to engage the community in efforts to prevent sexual violence,” said Laury Kasowski, executive director of Sexual Assault Resource Center, a nonprofit organization that provides crisis intervention and counseling services to survivors of sexual violence and their family and friends from Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Madison, Robertson and Washington counties. “We want to bring the community together to help prevent sexual violence at all levels in our community. These funds will go a long way in reaching out to the community to show that we all have a part in preventing sexual violence.”
