They were just slabs Saturday morning, but by evening, the exteriors of seven Bryan homes were nearly finished.
The Habitat for Humanity's Builders Blitz began today.
175 volunteers and workers are putting in some sweat to completely finish seven new houses in seven days.
They're homes the families receiving them, can't wait to move into.
"I could hardly sleep last night," said soon-to-be homeowner Justine Pineda. "I was up this morning at five-o-clock, trying to wake him up. He didn't want to get up. I got the kids ready, I had my sister and everything. I was ready to come out here."
Habitat officials say all the siding has been put on all the homes now, and workers are even a little ahead of schedule.
Ahead or not, the new home owners will officially be handed the keys to their homes this Friday, at 5:30, during a home dedication ceremony. Everyone is welcome to attend.
