Brazos County Sheriff's Department to Open Millican Office

The Brazos County Sheriff's Office is extending its service to those who live in the southern part of the county.

Brazos County Commissioners approved the use of a remote office in Millican.

That way deputies will be able to respond to incidents in the area more quickly, conduct interviews and file reports without driving 20 minutes from the main facility.

The office will be in the Millican Fire Station on Wingfall Street and it will not be staffed on a regular basis.

The county will not pay rent, just $100 a month for utilities.

The office is expected to open in the next few days.
