City of Bryan Employee Injured in Accident

A City of Bryan employee is in critical condition, after the cherry picker he was working in, was struck by an 18-wheeler.

City officials have not released the name of the employee, but say he was working on a traffic signal Monday afternoon at Highway 21 near 2818.

Police say when a van stopped suddenly at the intersection, an 18-wheeler travelling behind it, swerved and hit the cherry picker.

The employee was tossed from the bucket and severely injured.

He was taken to St. Joseph Regional Health Center where he is being treated.
