Summer Travel Weakens Blood Bank Supply

Summertime travel often puts a strain on collecting blood for agencies like the Red Cross, that's why they're asking for your help.

The Grimes County Red Cross Blood Program will host its third blood drive for the year Tuesday at the First methodist Church in Navasota.

The Red Cross says the need for blood rises during the summer, so if you're willing to donate they ask you stop by Tuesday afternoon between 12:30 to 5:30.

The only requirements are that donors be at least 17 years old and weight at least 110 pounds to give.
