Emergency officials across the Brazos Valley are remembering the Air Med 12 crew killed in a helicopter crash early Sunday.

Bryan firefighters wore black and yellow ribbons Tuesday in honor of flight paramedic Stephanie Waters, flight nurse Jana Bishop and pilot Wayne Kirby.

College Station firefighters have covered their badges with a strip of black tape, as a sign of respect.

CSFD officials say the PHI crew assisted them in critical situations.

"We worked with them hand and hand out in south Brazos County," Lt. Robert Mumford with the College Station Fire Department said. "They were activated for our serious patients that needed emergency transport to other major medical hospitals."

The tragedy has impacted emergency services in Brazos County. Response time will be longer, since air ambulance services will be coming from further locations.
