Appreciative Parents Recall PHI Crew's Last Mission

The final act of the PHI crew killed Sunday in a helicopter crash was saving a Madison County boy who nearly drown in a swimming pool.

4-year-old Weslee Sprouse has been released from the hospital and plans to attend Wednesday's memorial service for the air medics.

His father, James Sprouse, released the following statement:

"If it were not for the people at the scene of the accident and the crew of MED 12 our son would not be home with us now, expected to make a full recovery and lead a normal healthy life. The work that Stephanie, Wayne and Jana performed on MED 12 will not go unrewarded as evidenced by the many people alive today in our community due to their heroic efforts. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families."
