It has been open for only four days, but a Bryan Police Department satellite office is already paying dividends. Police say it was instrumental in the Thursday morning arrest of a pair of suspected burglars.

Millican resident Thomas Wilkerson, 23, and College Station resident Brian Hammons, 33, were taken into custody after a witness reported seeing them tying to break into a vacant home.An officer stationed at the new satellite office on Old College Road was able to get to the scene within minutes and make the arrests.

The pair is charged with burglary of a habitation, felon in possession of firearm (two counts), possession of stolen firearms (two counts), prohibited weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia. Hammons alone was charged with a second possession of drug paraphernalia.
