Bryan PD Promotes New Assistant Chief

There's a new face among the cops at the top of Bryan PD.

Lieutenant Curtis Darby assumed the rank of Assistant Chief Monday afternoon in a ceremony at the municipal building.

The 22-year veteran of BPD takes over as the head of the operations support bureau after the reassignment of now-former assistant chief David Slanker.

It's been a big year for Darby, as just a couple months ago, he won election to Iola's city council in the town's first elections.

He begins work in his new role with Bryan PD immediately.
