It turned out to be a red-letter weekend for the Texas Reds Festival. The second-year event drew an estimated 20,000 to Downtown Bryan.
Those who came apparently had a hearty appetite as more than 2,500 steak dinners were sold. That is a 55 percent increase over last year. After dining on steak, festival goers were also thirsty with wine tasting sales netting $31,000, an 88 percent spike from 2007.
Friday's concert attracted around 3,000 people. And Saturday night's headline performance by Jerry Jeff Walker drew close to 6,000 music lovers.
