For the second time in three weeks, a PHI air medic helicopter has crashed. This time, in Arizona.
Authorities say the chopper went down early Friday morning near Flagstaff while landing to pick up a motorcycle accident victim. All three crew members were hurt, two seriously, but none of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening. The cause of the crash is unknown.
It was back on June 8 when a PHI chopper based in Bryan crashed in Walker County. The accident killed all three crew members and the patient they were transporting.
PHI resumed service in the Brazos Valley Thursday.
