The Shugarts are having a family reunion this Fourth of July weekend.
"We get together and we barbeque non-stop," said Ginger Taylor.
They've set up a tent colony under the trees, at Lake Bryan.
"We grew up out at the lake, we grew up camping, this is our thing, this is what we love to do," said Taylor.
Its a good thing the family has a fondness for roughing it outdoors, because this is the only vacation some are taking this year.
"Usually we go to Schlitterbahn and do some other stuff during the summer, but we couldn't afford that this summer. We got to camp and that was all the money that we could spend," said Sherry Shugart.
Even the cost to camp has gone up.
"The groceries and all the stuff you need for camping is a lot more this year," said Taylor.
Some family members are grateful this year's campsite was close to home.
"I'm glad it was here because we wouldn't have been able to go out of town for vacation, we wouldn't have been able to afford the gas, there's no way," said Shugart. "We would have had to tell 'em no."
In the end, the family made it work this year, and the Shugarts were able to continue a tradition that started when they were kids.
