While some local school districts are giving their teachers pay raises, one area school district is looking to cut back their staff.
Navasota ISD issued a press release Thursday afternoon stating a "dilema over its financial contraints."
Superintendent Jennings Teel said they do not have the funds to maintain the support staff they currently have and are welcoming any volunteer resignations.
This may help them reduce the cuts made in the future. However, teachers will not be effected by this cut.
They are looking to cut between 12 to 15 positions, not including the ones that are already vacant.
NISD has 3,000 students and 400 employees.
