The four Brenham boys accused of breaking into a local school and causing extensive damage have been released to their parents.
Police say the boys, who are between the ages of 10 and 13, emptied fire extinguishers throughout Alton Elementary School, smashed windows and overturned furniture.
School officials say the boys caused about $18,000 worth of damage.
The boys were sentenced to two days in the Hays County Juvenile Detention Center in San Marcos, and Thursday the juveniles were allowed to go back home.
The Washington County Attorney's Office says the four have been charged with criminal mischief and face probation or time in juvenile corrections.
