Firefighter Olympics Begin with Power Lifting

The olympics don't start until next month, but Sunday some emergency responders got a jump on the action.

Around 2,000 firefighters are in Bryan/College Station taking part in the Texas Firefighter Olympics.

The competition began Sunday morning with the power lifters.

Events continue throughout the week, there's even a dance and night burn demonstration.

It's the first time since 1993 that BCS has hosted the Firefighter Olympics.
