An evening accident on Highway 6 stopped traffic in both directions.
It happened just before 6pm, about seven miles south of Hearne.
When first responders arrived, a Nissan Sentra had rear-ended a utility van in the south-bound inside lane, at the intersection of Old Bryan Highway.
At least two people were taken to the hospital by ambulance, with a third flown out by PHI Air Medical.
No information about the victims was available Sunday, but DPS says no one was killed.
Both north and south bound traffic was backed up for over a mile.
