Suspect Dead After Bryan Trespassing

A 26-year-old man with a lengthy rap sheet is dead in Bryan after authorities believe he trespassed onto property and broke into a home on the north side of town.

Around 10:10 p.m. Tuesday night, police were called to the 300 block of West 15th Street. There, they were told an unidentified man had gotten into a residence, but had suffered serious injuries.

Curtis Hall of Bryan was transported to St. Joseph Regional Health Center, but died from his injuries. Authorities on scene could not describe the extent of those injuries, only that there was a massive loss of blood.

Hall is believed to have jumped through a window at the home after he was confronted by a neighbor. That person said Hall was bloody when he first encountered him walking around cars, this after the neighbor heard a commotion and glass breaking.

After talking with Hall, the neighbor says Hall jumped into the nearby home.

The neighbor says he witnessed the suspect being pinned down in the home after he heard a commotion there.

No one in the home was injured, police say. The neighbor says it belongs to an elderly couple, and that a visiting son protected his parents.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine an exact cause of death.

Hall has been in jail 40 times this decade, according to Brazos County's online records. In total, Hall spent more than 850 days in Brazos County Jail. His charges have included theft, drunk driving, drug possession, evading arrest, and others.
