Some Navasota ISD employees are jumping for joy. Others are hopping mad.
Budget decisions made by the Navasota school board earlier this week are bringing mixed responses, depending on the job.
For staff, the news is good. The school board decided there won't be any job cuts after all. Previously, the board was looking at laying off as many as nine staff employees in order to save more than $245,000.
But for teachers and administrators, the news isn't so good. The board voted down a three percent pay raise which would have cost the district around $500,000.
