Find out what's lurking behind the kitchen door of your favorite restaurant. How do they fair under the watchful eye of the Brazos County Health Department? KBTX continues to look at which Brazos Valley restaurants are making the grade and which ones aren't.
Here's what inspectors found during the week of July 29th:
Fruit flies, a cracked ice scoop and black buildup near the ice shoot, cost Wendy's on Earl Rudder Freeway some points. It gets an 83.
Just a point higher for Taco Cabana in College Station, where beans weren't cooled properly and food wasn't kept cold enough.
Mi Cocina II on George Bush Drive is docked for moldy lemons and food not hot enough. It scored an 85.
Employees at McAllister's Deli were told to wear hair restraints. That plus a leaky sink gets the deli an 86.
While inspectors gave Cotton Patch Cafe on Earl Rudder Freeway in Bryan an 89 because of spoiled onions and buildup on the can opener.
And our gold stars of the week go to Kentucky Fried Chicken and Wienerschnitzel, both on Texas Avenue in Bryan. They received a 100 from health inspectors.
