The Bryan ISD school board is moving forward with a new budget that does not include a new tax rate increase.

The board will hold a public hearing August 11 at 6 p.m. to receive comments on the FY 2008-2009 budget. The hearing takes place at the Travis Education Support Center Board Room, 101 N. Texas Avenue.

The district's proposed spending plan keeps the same tax rate as last year's: $1.29/per $100 valuation. That includes $1.04 for operations and maintenance and $0.25 for debt service.
