The Butaud family of Grimes County is certainly no stranger to heartbreak. Widower Russell Butaud raised three boys and three girls. Now they're preparing to say good bye to their last remaining son.
Phelo Butaud, 33, was killed just after midnight Friday after being struck by a car as he walked alongside Highway 90 between Roans Prairie and Bedias.
The DPS says Butaud was on foot because his car had broken down. No charges will be filed against the driver who hit him.
The Butaud family lost son Ceasar to a rare medical condition more than 10 years ago. The second son, Russell Junior, was killed is a car wreck in December, 2004.
