Three Shot at School Reunion in Cameron

The sounds of laughter and fellowship were shattered early Sunday morning in Cameron when a gunman opened fire on a school reunion.

Three people were shot and a police officer injured during the chaos that broke out at around 1:30 a.m. at the annual O.J. Thomas get together.

Two of the wounded were treated at a local hospital while the third was air-lifted to Scott & White Hospital in Temple. The officer was injured while rushing to the scene to help.

Authorities said the gunman opened fire on the crowd which was outside at the intersection of 8th Street and M.L.K. Street. Police are still looking for the shooter.
