Smoking Ban Being Considered in Madisonville

Madisonville's elected leaders are considering a ban on smoking in public places.

The ordinance being considered would outlaw smoking in retail and service establishments and financial institutions, as well as city managed areas, hospitals and schools.

If approved, it would be a Class C misdemeanor to violate the law, which could mean up to a $500 fine.

The city is asking for input from residents. A link to the ordinance and how you can let the city know how you feel is below.
