College Station fire fighters have some new digs.
The city officially dedicated the new Fire Station 3. Firefighters moved in a few weeks ago, and Saturday, the public got to take a peek.
Firefighters and EMTs served burgers and hot dogs, and of course guided tours of the new state-of-the-art station.
The old fire station 3 was originally located on a bypass road for Highway 6.
"Last year, TxDOT made it a one way road, so it kind of hampered our ability to respond north out of that fire station, so with this station, we can respond east and west, north and south and get into our areas a lot more quicker," said CSFD Chief R. B. Alley.
The station serves the southern end of College Station, and responds to south Brazos county up to the Navasota line.
