After months of construction, Allen Academy's multi-million dollar academic building is ready for the 2008-2009 school year.
The college prep school will mark the grand opening of the new building Tuesday morning. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m.
Texas A&M University President Dr. Elsa Murano will serve as the guest speaker.
The new facility will consist of four separate wings to serve all grade levels, a building for science and technology and an expanded fine arts center.
News Three will stream the ceremony live at 10 a.m. on KBTX.com.
Allen Academy says the new facility will enhance the academy's ability to build new strategic partnerships with some of the research and teaching institutions in the area, including Texas A&M University and Blinn College. The final school facility will have a maximum capacity of 498 students. The five-year strategic goal is to increase enrollment to two full sections with a waiting list at each grade level.
The mission of Allen Academy is to educate young people - intellectually, aesthetically, socially, physically, and morally - so they become responsible, contributing citizens and fulfilled individuals.
