College Station police say since July 15, they have investigated 14 home burglaries, including attempted ones, in the Southwest Parkway area.
Most of those have gone unsolved, but Friday morning a watchful neighbor helped police catch an alleged burglar in the act.
Alphonso Turner, 17, is in custody, accused of breaking into a College Station residence.
Turner was caught Friday morning, after police say he and another man broke into a house in the 2100 block of Crest Street. The duo didn't get too far, police say a neighbor saw the alleged burglars and called police.
The pair fled and Turner was later caught and arrested near Dominik. The other suspect remains on the run.
News 3 talked to the resident who's house was broken into soon after she learned of the crime.
"It makes me a little nervous just because I was having my alarm system installed next week and so to come home and see things scattered everywhere. It makes you a little nervous," Stephanie Stewart said.
Police are now looking into the possibility of whether this burglary is related to others recently reported in the Southwest Parkway area.
