Incorporation Talk of the Town in Reliance

Another Brazos County community is ready to take the incorporation plunge.

The community of Reliance has filed an application to incorporate, and the issue will be placed on the November ballot, according to Brazos County Judge Randy Sims.

Reliance is located in the eastern portion of Brazos County. It encompasses more than 12 hundred acres and 233 residents.

Those advocating incorporation say they want to maintain their rural atmosphere, while governing their own future and growth.

There will be a community meeting on the issue next Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Reliance Community Center.
