It took a jury just over an hour Friday to convict a College Station man of racing and causing serious bodily injury.
Last September, Pablo Castillo lost control of his vehicle during a highway race and severely injured a 12-year-old girl.
The punishment phase of the trial continues Monday. Castillo faces up to 20 years in prison for the second degree felony. The jury also has the option of placing him on probation.
Authorities say the case against the man Castillo was drag racing, Silvano Herrara, is still pending.
