A Bryan woman was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison for killing her sick husband.
Dorian Cooper's jury trial was supposed to begin Monday, instead the 24-year-old pleaded guilty to murder.
In January 2007, Cooper cut her husband's dialysis catheter, which led to his death.
During a hearing, Cooper's attorneys claimed she was borderline mentally retarded, but the judge ruled they did not show her to be incompetent to stand trial or insane at the time of the offense.
Cooper was taken into custody immediately to begin serving her prison sentence.
