A College Station man is not headed to prison for causing a collision that injured a young girl.
Pablo Castillo, 31, was sentenced Monday to five years probation and 180 days in jail.
Castillo was convicted Friday of racing on a highway causing serious bodily injury after injuring a 12-year-old girl last September.
The jury assessed punishment at seven years in prison, but agreed probation was appropriate in the case.
Castillo will also have to pay restitution to the victims, abstain from drinking during his probation and have an interlock device on his car, which will prevent him from driving if he's been drinking.
