A Washington County man remained behind bars Tuesday charged with shooting two Burton men, one fatally.
Brenham police say a heated argument over a woman erupted into gunfire Friday night.
Toray Lamont Moore, 30, is charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Brenham police say Moore shot and killed Charles Mathis, and shot Rodney Wilson, Jr. in the leg. Wilson was treated and released from the hospital, according to authorities.
Authorities say it was a dispute over a past girlfriend that led to the shooting.
Moore was arrested the next morning by DPS troopers who stopped him for a minor traffic violation.
He is being held in the Washington County jail on a $1.5 million bond.
