Merrill Green Stadium Dedicated During Halftime

The football field on Briarcrest Drive in Bryan is now officially known as Merrill Green Stadium.

It was a halftime to remember Friday night for Coach Green and his family. After showing a video montage from his coaching days, the man who led the Vikings for 20 years was presented with a plaque.

And after cheers and a few tears, Viking Stadium now bears his name.

"This is the first time I've been on the field in all these years, and seeing the crowd really brings back a lot of wonderful memories. The great coaching staff we had, the great people we had in the community, to tell you the truth -- it was just overwhelming," Green said after the dedication.
