Firefighters across the Brazos Valley are out in full force, with boots in hand. The first responders are all trying to collect money for "Jerry's Kids," a part of the Muscular Distrophy Association.
Bryan firefighters say they raised $10 thousand for MDA last year, and are hoping to beat that total this weekend.
Firefighters from each of the city's fire stations are competing with each other, and also other cities.
"The College Station Fire Department does the same thing. Its always a little bit of a friendly competition to see who can raise the most. In the end, it's a benefit to everybody," said Lieutenant Bob Davis of the Bryan Fire Department.
Firefighters will announce their totals on the MDA telethon that airs on KBTX Sunday and Monday.
If you didn't get a chance to help fill the boot, you can catch firefighters at various locations in Bryan and College Station on Sunday.
