A body has been found in the search for a missing Madison County man. Authorities just don't know if it's Gene Coleman.
A search Saturday morning organized by family members and involving search teams from Bryan and Travis County turned up a badly decomposed body in a pond about a quarter-mile from where Coleman's car was found on Dawkins Road near Normangee.
The 53-year-old was last seen August 8, and authorities had ended their search last weekend. Keys were found in his car, and foul play is suspected.
The body found Saturday has been sent to a Conroe medical examiner. A sheriff's official says it was too badly decomposed to identify on sight.
You're asked to call the Madison County Sheriff's Office if you have any information on Gene Coleman's disappearance. The number is (936) 348-2755.
