Cut and Shoot Shooting Victim Will Likely Live

A 24-year-old Dallas woman who was shot in the head this weekend in Montgomery County will likely live, according to authorities there.

James Qualset, 25, is charged with aggravated assault for the shooting.

On Friday night, authorities believe he and his girlfriend, Rebecca Dill-Wilson, were driving in Cut and Shoot with friends when Qualset fired a gun from the backseat, shooting his girlfriend in the seat in front of him.

Despite the bullet going through the woman's brain, she is able to talk and write, and has been upgraded to stable condition.

It is unknown whether Qualset meant to shoot his girlfriend, or if it was accidental.

Dill-Wilson will press charges.
