A Caldwell store gave a thank you that will go a long way for the city's police department.
Back in June, police tracked down Louis Avrin, who had robbed Brookshire Brothers. Avrin was killed in a shootout.
For their bravery, the grocery made a five thousand dollar donation to the police department, money Chief Paul Lilly says will be well spent.
"It will most likely be put toward equipment that the officers have to purchase themselves, as far as duty gear and things like that that the city doesn't normally provide, things like that that ease the burden on the officers," Lilly said.
