One Dead and Four Injured in South Brazos County Accident

There are multiple injuries reported in a major accident in south Brazos County on Highway 6.

The accident occurred Sunday evening near FM 159, near the fireworks warehouse.

Authorities say in all, five people were taken to the College Station Medical Center, including one by PHI helicopter.

Involved in the partial head-on collision were a sedan and a van. The victims in the Sedan were 18 year old Kamran Adam Hussan of Sugar Land, 16 year old Jennifer Urbina of Sugar Land, 43 year old Mercy Urbina of Sugar Land and 50 year old David Urbina of Sugar Land.

Troopers said Mercy Urbina was in critical condition, David Urbina in serious condition and the other two victims were in good condition.

The driver of the van, 18 year old Alex James Kirk of Katy died at the College Station Medical Center.

The accident's cause is still being investigated, but the undivided stretch of Highway 6 where it occurred has seen its share of fatal accidents.

Traffic on Highway 6 was slowed or stopped for much of the evening as authorities cleared the scene and investigated the accident.
