Aggie Buses Move Student Evacuees From Corpus Christi

By air and land, Texans fleeing the storm are criss-crossing across the state.

On Wednesday, Texas A&M buses transported students from the Corpus Christi campus to safety.

Five buses left College Station Wednesday morning for Texas A&M Corpus Christi, according to university officials.

They are taking 175 students to Laredo in advance of Hurricane Ike, officials said.

Students in College Station are being urged to go to class early or use alternate transportation this week since part of the fleet is being used to transport evacuees.

Officials note there will be fewer buses on routes 1, 3, 4 and the two extra buses on route 36.
