Commercial Flights Shutting Down at Easterwood

With Houston airports shutting down operations due to Hurricane Ike's impending arrival, Easterwood Airport's flight schedule is changing as well.

No Continental Airlines flights in to or out of the Texas A&M-based airport will happen at least until Sunday.

In addition, there will be no American Airlines flights in to or out of Easterwood beginning Saturday. As long as conditions permit, flights will continue to and from Dallas-Fort Worth Friday.

Easterwood could be called into action with emergency evacuations. Officials at the airport and Federal Aviation Administration officials are in contact.

Military planes have been bringing evacuees to the area recently.

If you have commercial flight plans in the coming days, you are asked to stay in touch with the airlines to see if those flights will, in fact, take place.
