The Community Emergency Operations Center released new information Friday afternoon regarding the number of hurricane evacuees in Bryan-College Station.
As of Friday afternoon, the Bryan-College Station community is sheltering about 3,033 evacuees. About 533 of those have special needs.
News Three has learned that 15 shelters are open, and 12 of those are reportedly full.
There are roughly 200 small animals and 114 large animals in B-CS shelters.
If you are a local resident needing shelter during the storm, officials say Stephen F. Austin Middle School, Bonham Elementary, Anson Jones and College Station Middle School will open at 6 p.m.
You're asked to bring your own bedding, supplies and medicine. Pets are not allowed in the shelters, and an evening meal will not be served.
