Due to loss of electricity and diminished water services, Grimes St. Joseph Health Center in Navasota has transferred all 13 inpatients to St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan.
Grimes St. Joseph is currently running on emergency generator power. The transfer of patients was completed Saturday afternoon using St. Joseph EMS, Bryan Fire Department, College Station Fire Department and Washington County EMS ambulances.
Although Grimes St. Joseph is on diversion for EMS and ambulances, a team will remain at Navasota to care for walk-in Emergency Room patients. Any patient who needs hospitalization will be transported to the appropriate facility for care.
Also available to Grimes County residents who have urgent medical needs is St. Joseph Express, an urgent care center located on the access road of Highway 6, just north of William D. Fitch Parkway in College Station.
As power and water are restored, Grimes St. Joseph will evaluate the best time to admit inpatients back to the facility.
