Hurricane Ike blew in downing trees across Bryan College Station and even though homeowners had to deal with some damage, it wasn't near as bad as it could have been.
"I consider myself very fortunate. Had it fallen straight over, it would have gone into the bedroom but it fell this way." said Bryan resident Bettye Nedbalek.
James and Tina Green were not so lucky. This tree fell right on top of James' car, leaving it damaged.
Royce Hickman of College Station was also lucky, his front yard tree narrowly missed his house ending up on his driveway. The amazing part is Royce never even heard the tree go down.
"About 9:30 this morning our neighbor came over and asked if I realized the tree was down," said Hickman. " I didn't even realized it so it was an unusual thing for us."
And finally there's Mary Rhodes. She was housing her entire family when this tree was taken down but Ike. Once again, her house and property was spared.
"I thank the lord that we just had moved the cars before it had fell and both of those cars over there are ours. I guess about six this morning my husband told my daughters ya'll need to move those cars. One hour later, the tree just fell, missing the vehicles." said Rhodes.
