A College Station man is dead after police say he was accidentally shot by his roommate.
It happened in the three hundred block of Fraternity Row just after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers say Keller Benjamin Verett's roommate was showing an accessory on a gun and had that gun pointed in the direction of Verett. That's when police say the weapon accidentally fired with a bullet hitting the 24-year-old in the head.
Police performed CPR until medics arrived to rush Verett to the College Station Medical Center.
Officers say upon arriving to the hospital, Verett died from his injuries.
Texas A&M's website lists Verett as an EMS technician at the university's health center.
When the investigation into the shooting is complete, police will turn their findings over to the district attorney's office, which will determine if charges will be filed against the shooter.
