Investigators are still piecing together details of a wreck in College Station that seriously injured a motorcyclist Friday.

Police say an earlier wreck had traffic backed up on FM 2818 shortly before noon. Apparently, an impatient trucker was attempting to make a U-turn with his 18-wheeler to avoid the delay. That's when an approaching motorcycle crashed, throwing the 48-year old male rider.

The injured man was taken to the College Station Medical Center with head and neck injuries. He was not wearing a helmet.
